1. She jerked back, letting go as if the knob had burst into flames, and crossed her arms over her chest.
2. She can only wonder what it was like, alive and prosperous; her respect for the dead keeps her from asking.
3. Then it was all white and black and blurry colors and gold fire that chased him from awareness, thinking only of holding onto that little bit of darkness because someone told him he had to...
4. There was nothing left for him to feed off of, nothing to keep the hunger in check.
5. The twitchy muscles, the inability to sit still, the instinct to flee all these people who were so damned concerned...
6. "See, I know there's only so much time you're allowed in the gym, and you obviously can't be planning on doing paperwork the rest of the trip, so I figured since all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, you could stand to learn from the most brilliant mind in two galaxies."
