Author's Note: Occurs post-Profiler, Profiled, but before Morgan and Reid become lovers.

Morgan stretched a little, arching his back; his book dangled from one hand, thumb keeping his place. The trip home from Anchorage was too. Damn. Long. A caught breath made him still, settling back into his original position and glance down.

Bleary hazel eyes looked up, dazed and less than fully awake. A quiet, interrogative grunt asked a half dozen questions.

"Sorry, Reid," Morgan said, voice soft in deference to Reid and the others. "We still have..." and he checked his watch. "An hour and a half or so before we land. You're welcome to go back to sleep, I'll get you a pillow if you--"

Another grunt, this time negative in tone, answered, and Reid pushed his head back against Morgan's free hand, where it rested against the nape of his neck. 'Pillows don't give neckrubs,' Reid was saying, too exhausted to bother with words.

Chuckling quietly, Morgan stroked Reid's hair, letting the heavy silk sift through his fingers. "Understood."

Reid purred contentedly, a soft rumble of sound as he scrubbed his cheek against Morgan's jean-clad thigh. Then he curled up tighter, knees brushing the back of the couch, and stilled again, eyes closing in sleep.

Morgan felt the weight of curious gazes upon him as he went back to his book, free hand idly petting Reid's hair. He shrugged mentally and ignored them; he had nothing to explain or apologize for. And thankfully, nothing he needed to hide.

Not yet, anyway.

And, he hoped and suspected, not ever.

Argh. When all of this is done, I'mma have to go back and read them all in order XD Just one thing confuses me: was Reid's head in Morgan's lap to begin with, or did he shift over from some other position after M woke him up? And if it's the first option (because that's what I'm guessing), how exactly did Reid's head end up there in ther first place?

Other than that, was so psyched when woke up this morning and saw a new chapter was up. =D

Reid was using Morgan's thigh for a pillow to start with. Morgan woke him up when he stretched.

How Reid's head ended up there? He fell asleep that way.

I know it's unusual. That's why A) others on the team are staring at him and B) why it's called pre-slash.

This is probably one, maybe two, cases before they actually admit (to each other, at least) what's actually going on.

this made me too happy to write much of a coherent comment, so i'll just say: absoutely ADORABLE!!! (which i know doesn't fit in with the rest of the series, which i also love, but this part is just lovely.)

Well, most of the series does seem to be angst in one form or another, but there is *some* pure fluff to it, too. This one just smacked me upside the head and yelled "WRITE ME!"

I'm usually pretty indiscriminate when it comes to pairings, but in Criminal Minds, Morgan/Reid gets about as close to an OTP as I tend to get in any given fandom. They just DO belong together.

I like adding in the little things, things that scream 'couple!' So now the rest of the team is seeing things that make them go 'Hmm!'

Well, IMHO, and from what I can see on the show, being a member of the BAU team (and probably to at least some degree in law enforcement and first response personnel) requires a deeper level of trust than your normal office job. Morgan and Reid have just taken it a little further.

Although I think at least a few of the others are probably going to peg what's really going on before they do, or at least before they do anything about it!
