Ok, now that I've gotten THAT out of the way...
I just finished watching the Season 3 opener.
I have to say...I'm impressed, intrigued, curious, depressed, completely fucked in the head, and my stomach's in knots.
Which is...somewhat par for the course for this tv show, but not quite to this extent.
I don't want to post spoilers.
However, I WILL say that, if what we think is going to happen does happen? I don't know if I'll be able to continue watching.
And that Of Innocence & Empathy cuts off after The Evolution of Frank. I'm not sure if I can handle writing fic post-Doubt.
Edit: There ARE spoilers in the comments. Read at your own risk.

Date: 2007-09-27 03:21 am (UTC)And you HAVE to keep watching, because I love your fic. But of course, you could keep writing without watching, but where's the fun in that? And then you'd lose the pleasure of keeping track of MGG's hair. LOL.

Date: 2007-09-27 03:26 am (UTC)I do think, though, that I won't be writing post-Gideon fic. It would take something pretty damn intense for me to be willing to do that. Or comfortable. Whatever.
Not that I'm all that comfortable with about half of what I'm writing now, but at least I like and am comfortable with the characters. If not the situations.

Date: 2007-09-27 05:44 am (UTC)I'm so interested to see where this show is going without Gideon, but I honestly didn't think they'd get rid of him like THAT.

Date: 2007-09-27 01:38 pm (UTC)A) Gideon's partnership with and balance to Hotch is so integral to the team chemistry you KNOW the new/old guy's going to be like dropping a depth charge. Everything you know is going to change, and we don't know how. I started watching a half dozen other cop-type shows (CSI, CSINY, Shark, Cold Case, Without a Trace, etc.) around the same time I started watching CM (Superbowl weekend! Yay, I picked it up right when Reid got kidnapped. Joy). I haven't been able to keep my interest in any of them, and it's probably due to the lack of partnership/balance in any of them.
B) Joe's character, at least what I've read about, doesn't impress me. There's a lot there for me NOT to like. I'd like to say I'll give it a fair shot, but my muse is so not not not happy with it. And historically, any show I'm not attacked by rabid plotbunnies that breed like tribbles, I lose interest in. Not good.
C) Joe Montegna doesn't do a damn thing for me, visually. Mandy isn't uh. attractive to me, as per the discussion going on currently on the master-apprentice list, but he had a certain something that fit well visually with the rest of the team. I dunno. He just doesn't fit.
D) If Gideon does go through with it, do you really think that the rest of the team is going to be emotionally sound enough to keep working? Come ON. Even the threat might be enough to yank the rug out from under Reid - I'm still convinced we haven't seen the end of what Tobias did to him, and the drug storyline.
Just my two cents.

Date: 2007-09-27 07:31 pm (UTC)B.) I think he might be one of those characters written for the purpose of audiences loving to hate them. if so, I'm going to throw blunt objects at the writers.
C.) at least I'm not the only one who thought he didn't fit, appearance-wise. I guess we'll just have to wait (until the fifth episode, dammit).
D.) exactly. they seem to be focused on breaking up the team, here, and I'm not liking that direction. of course, I DEFINITELY want to see more of the Reid storyline.

Date: 2007-09-27 08:41 pm (UTC)A) I totally agree with you on that one. Before I got whammied into the In Search of Peace and its other triplets, I was planning on writing a Hotch/Morgan series...who knows if I'll ever get to write it now.::whine::
There's not enough Hotch/Morgan in the world.B) I hate characters you love to hate. There's really no point to them unless they're a recurring villain. Plus, didn't they already go that route with Prentiss?
C) Can I just say YUCK?! Yuck. Thanks. I saw the new cast photo. Um. No thanks.
D) Divide the team, the show gets conquered. I'm not really watching for the cases, I'm watching for the team. Don't take the team away! I'm sort of iffy on the Reid/drug storyline. I want to see it ended, yes, but I really really really want them to go after the post-Profiler, Profiled possibilities. Yeesh, you know Morgan's going to be called as a witness!

Date: 2007-09-28 12:47 am (UTC)no, there is definitely not enough Hotch/Morgan.as Garcia would say...word.
