Author's Other Note: This was a snippet that came to mind during a chat with hawk_dancing. I fleshed it out a bit.

Emily glanced up from the hideously expensive arrangement: white rosebuds, some edged with pale blue; baby's breath, tiny specks of white thick in fist-sized clouds, enough to give the impression of fog; silver-green ferns, and not the normal wide-leafed variety, but soft and feathery, sticking up in spikes that begged a touch; all in an obviously hand-blown glass vase, complete with jewel-toned fish swimming among the stems. There hadn't been a card. "What?"

Morgan reached out, running a thumb delicately over the edge of a velvet-soft rose petal. "These are gorgeous."

"And?"

"You aren't curious who sent 'em?"

Emily laughed a little in wry amusement. "It doesn't matter, I'm already taken."

Morgan raised an eyebrow, pointedly not looking at JJ as she walked into the pit, stopping behind Emily with a grimace for the flowers. "So if Brad Pitt sends you flowers, you aren't even going to take a second glance?"

Snorting at the ridiculous suggestion, Emily shook her head, then shrugged. "JJ's prettier."

JJ choked and turned bright red.

hawk_dancing and I argued a little about who I should use (and if I should use a woman, considering), but Brad's the first person I thought of, and I figured Morgan would think of someone in the same uh...well. age range? I guess.

The untitled Haley-fic I was referring to is still being written. And still needs a title. And I'm guessing you didn't/haven't gotten my email?

I think the confusion was from "hideously expensive" flowers. Not hideous flowers.

OK, so who's crushing on Emily? Everyone else is paired up, aren't they? Wait, no, maybe not. And thank you for having JJ be the one to blush; usually all the fanfics make Reid blush and it gets tiresome after a while :)

Seriously, reading your description makes me want to go out and buy myself flowers! Cute chapter. And of course one that leaves us with another question!

No, Penelope's still single. Although I guess it'd have to depend on your definition of 'paired up'.

::ponders:: I've had Reid blush (more than a few times). I've also had Morgan, Hotch, and..uh. I think at this point most of the team's blushed.

I actually spent the better part of an afternoon searching the web for some flowers that were 'hideously expensive' enough to suit, but never did find some. So I had to make it up.

Always with the more questions! Always leave the audience wanting more.

Yeah, a writer friend of mine always said to "leave them with (on) a hook." It worked for Dickens, right? :) Makes it more fun, and more interesting. I love speculation.
